Ethics in Action: Making the Right Call in Business Hosted by the Southern CO SBDC

About This Event:
Ethical challenges in business are rarely as simple as knowing right from wrong. More often, business owners must balance customer expectations, employee needs, financial pressures, confidentiality, fairness, and their company’s reputation.

This interactive class will help participants recognize ethical dilemmas, think through difficult decisions, and respond in ways that protect their customers, employees, and businesses. Through realistic small-business scenarios, participants will practice making thoughtful decisions before a challenging situation becomes a costly problem.

Participants will learn how to:

• Recognize common ethical challenges involving customers, employees, vendors, pricing, privacy, and conflicts of interest.
• Separate legal requirements from ethical responsbilities.
• Use a simple decision-making framework when the right answer is not immediately clear.
• Establish clear values and expectations for employees
• Communicate honestly when mistakes or difficult situations arise.
• Build trust and protect their business's reputation.
