Effective Communication in Business Hosted by the Southern CO SBDC

About This Event:
Effective communication is more than simply sharing information. Business owners must communicate clearly with customers, employees, vendors, and partners, often while navigating different personalities, expectations, and stressful situations. 

This interactive class will help participants strengthen their everyday communication skills, prevent misunderstandings, and handle challenging conversations with greater confidence. Through realistic small-business scenarios, participants will practice listening, setting expectations, delivering clear messages, and responding professionally when communication becomes difficult.

Participants will learn how to:

• Recognize common barriers that lead to misunderstandings.
• Communicate clearly with customers, employees, vendors, and business partners.
• Practice active listening and ask better questions.
• Adapt their communication style for different people and situations.
• Set clear expectations and confirm mutual understanding.
• Navigate difficult conversations calmly and professionally.
• Use email, text, phone, and in-person communication more effectively.
• Build trust and strengthen professional relationships through consistent communication.
• Write clear, effective workplace communications.
