NEWS RELEASE | The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority new grant program ready to LAUNCH

PUEBLO, Colo., July 31, 2026 — The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (PURA) has launched the Local Action Unlocking New Community Horizons (LAUNCH) Grant Program, a new initiative focused on supporting capital improvement projects within Pueblo’s Urban Renewal Areas. The program is intended to assist with projects that enhance the appearance, accessibility, functionality, and long-term vitality of commercial properties, community spaces, and neighborhood assets.

 

The LAUNCH Grant Program was created to support visible improvements that contribute to community reinvestment and help advance the goals established in Pueblo’s Urban Renewal Areas. Through targeted funding, the program will support projects that improve the built environment and create lasting improvements for the community.

 

Projects that may be supported through the program include building façade improvements, accessibility upgrades, enhanced lighting, public art, outdoor gathering spaces, signage, streetscape improvements, and other permanent investments that help make an area more welcoming, attractive, and functional for residents, businesses, and visitors.

 

 

PURA currently administers 17 Urban Renewal Areas throughout the community. The LAUNCH Grant Program is designed to complement ongoing redevelopment efforts by supporting projects that create lasting physical improvements and contribute to the continued revitalization of these areas. Applications will be accepted from August 1 through September 30.
