Membership and Events Intern
Position Title: Membership and Events Intern
Duration: 3 Months – Academic Semester
Time: Part Time Intern (12-16 Hours Per Week) with a limited number of night and weekend activities during the year.
Reports to: Office of the President & Chief Executive Officer
Overview: The Membership and Events Intern at the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo will perform a variety of different duties and responsibilities in three primary areas which include Membership/Communications/Marketing, Events/Programs, and Leadership. The internship will last a minimum of three months, or the duration of an academic semester, to allow students the opportunity to receive class or program credit. This internship will be completed in person at the Latino Chamber of Commerce office with occasional virtual components and events held at various locations in the Pueblo community. Depending on availability with the respective institution, the Intern may earn an internship or class credit(s) for working as an Intern at the Latino Chamber.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (This is a listing of primary duties and responsibilities and is not inclusive of all duties that may be required.)
Membership/Communications/Marketing
· Communicates with members, community partners, and entrepreneurs to schedule events and address business related needs
· Schedules meetings with current and prospective members and conducts 30/60/90-day membership follow ups
· Responsible for the recruitment of new members and developing a strong pipeline to grow the organization
· Maintains accurate membership records
· Prepares and distributes weekly electronic newsletter and Chamber communications
· Works with the strategic partners of the Latino Chamber to drive value-added opportunities to the members, as well as explores new strategic partner opportunities for the benefit of Chamber members
Events/Programs
· Assists in the planning, coordination, and on-site facilitation of various Latino Chamber events and functions
· Communicates with venues and caterers when planning events
· Secures event sponsorships and silent auction donations when appropriate
· Works to develop cost effective operations for the Supporting Pueblo online marketplace (e.g., marketing, order fulfillment, order delivery)
· Develops marketing materials and social media posts for Supporting Pueblo
· Maintains inventory of Supporting Pueblo products and current contact information for vendors
· Develops ways the Latino Chamber can serve and contribute to the tourism and hospitality industries
Leadership
· Represents the Latino Chamber at community and Chamber functions and meetings
· Provides general support to office visitors
· Provides administrative support to ensure efficient office operations
· Prepares any needed materials for Chamber Ambassador meetings and office meetings
· Leads, schedules meetings, recruits, and assigns responsibilities for the Chamber Ambassador Team
· Performs other relevant duties as assigned

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is preferred
Other: Must be willing and able to work outside of normal working hours, must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours and proof of automobile insurance.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit and professional development opportunities may be available.
