Join us on Wednesday, July 21, for our second ¡Pleibol! discussion. Starting at 6 pm, a panel of local Pueblo athletes, coaches, and community members will discuss the history of baseball in Pueblo's community, and the history of Hispano, Latino, and Chicano players in our city's favorite sport.
The conversation will be led by Sal Acuna, local baseball organizational consultant and team coach at Runyon Sports Complex Commission.
This event is in association with the ¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues exhibit, which is currently on view at El Pueblo History Museum. ¡Pleibol! is a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institute which details the history of Latinas/os in baseball across the United States, and how their love for the game and incredible talent changed the sport and transformed American culture. This exhibit is on view until August 1st.
This event will also be streamed live on Facebook, for those who cannot attend in-person.
