Telephone Service Specialist

Do you enjoy helping people? Our Service Specialists assist people over the phone while providing the best customer service available at all times. We support callers within our communities by connecting them with on-call personnel, emergency services and support services.

Position Requirements:
- Ability to type; preferably minimum of 40 words per minute
- Ability to speak clearly and project a pleasant tone of voice
- Ability to accurately document and present information during phone interactions
- Ability to multitask while on the phone
- Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
- Must be able to pass a DOC Background check

General Responsibilities/Skills: This description is neither an employment contract nor an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities for this position.
  • Answers telephone lines primarily for service businesses including physicians, crisis services, commercial services and repair companies, contractors, etc.
  • Answers incoming calls and makes outgoing calls to relay messages to the appropriate person based on personalized account instructions.
  • Actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
  • Capable of making quick decisions based on client and company guidelines
  • Follows account instructions for relaying of messages and when contacting on-call staff.
  • Excellent listening, typing and oral communication skills including the ability to speak clearly and with proper telephone etiquette to both clients and their callers
  • Maintains a professional, empathetic and friendly attitude at all times.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Self-starter and self-motivator with a strong, positive work ethic.
  • Team player
  • Punctuality and good attendance are essential
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • All Service Specialists use workstations that are equipped with a telephones, (personal) headset, and computer.
  • Work may be repetitious and stressful, with little time in between calls, while still providing excellent customer service
  • Long periods spent sitting, typing, and looking at a computer screens
