Students will create an 8" x 10" fused glass portrait of a pet or animal. The project will be tack fused to retain the textural aspect of the project. Students will need to email a photo to the instructor 2 days in advance or utilize inspirational samples provided by the instructor. No experience necessary. This class is suitable for adults, seniors, and teens over 16 years of age. Materials and Tools information below. N95 Mask is recommended for safety when working with powdered materials. Students are encouraged to bring a beverage and a snack or lunch when classes interfere with their normal eating times. There is a drinking fountain in the hall, but there are no vending machines on site.
MATERIALS & TOOLS:?
Due to the nature of this class, at times, students may be working with glass powders. This being the case, we ask students to bring an N-95 mask for safety. This mask will be worn while handling the glass powders and isn’t required to be worn for the whole class. The studio will have a limited number of respirators available for class use, however, if you are able to bring a personal safety mask, this would be recommended. Other than personal safety masks, all materials and tools will be provided by the Instructor, Nell Trask, or by the Arts Center.
FIRING POLICY:?
The projects will be fired and available for pick up at Sangre de Cristo Art Center one week following the conclusion of your class, unless otherwise specified by your instructor.
