SUMMARY:Latino Colorado: The Struggle for Equality in the Centennial State Presentation
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month\, our partners at Pueblo Community College would like to invite you to attend Latino Colorado: The Struggle for Equality in the Centennial State\, a special presentation by Ernesto Sag s\, Ph.D.\, on Wednesday\, September 24th from 12-1 pm in Hoag Theater. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.\n\n\n\nMexican Americans and other Latinos make up more than 22% of Colorado's population\, play a vital role in its major economic sectors\, and are becoming a political force to be reckoned with. Latino Colorado fills this gap in the literature by examining the multifaceted experience of Latinos in Colorado from the nineteenth century to the present.\n\n\n\nAbout Ernesto Sag s: He is professor of ethnic studies at Colorado State University and a political analyst for Univisi n Colorado. He is the author of Race and Politics in the Dominican Republic\; coeditor of The Dominican People\, Dominican Migration\, and Dominican Politics in the Twenty-First Century\; and author of several articles on race and politics\, democracy and authoritarianism\, and immigration policies\, among other topics.\n\n\n\nFor questions or additional information please contact Julie Jimenez at Julie.Jimenez@pueblocc.edu.
