SUMMARY:Business Women's Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:What would it be like if you had a coach that helped you get through the tough times? Someone that knew where the stones are in the pond? Someone that knows the distance and the planning it takes to get in the race? . . . Let us introduce you to someone that has some skill to be able to do that very thing. . . Business Woman Network is excited to present Emily McElwain as our featured speaker for our February Luncheon. Emily moved to Colorado In 2018 from Columbia\, Missouri where she worked for 17 years at the University of Missouri - (Mizz-Zou )in Campus Recreation. She was recruited to CSUP to bring that same energy and enthusiasm and fills the role of Director of Campus Recreation for Colorado State University - Pueblo. She has worked on various projects on campus and in the community. Projects like Vision2028 initiative\, and Recreate Pueblo and RTA planning committees have her fingerprints and energy. Emily is also a long time member of WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) and is now a coach for the company. Her journey to health began in 2009. She wanted to focus on healthy habits for herself and her family. Over the course of 2 years she lost over 50 pounds and took up running. But running was more than a goal. It was purpose as well. Most recently this journey to health prompted her to run half marathons. She set her sights on a bigger goal however\, and completed the full New York City Marathon. Emily can identify many obstacles that hold us down or back from what we want\, but she reminded of a quote by Brian Tracy\, "Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal"
